Due to increasing cost in human resources and electricity, less bauxite raw materials, most manufacturers are having little profit. Many furnaces in China have stopped working. According to our knowledge, 90% of furnaces in Yichuan County,Henan Province which is the most important manufacturing base for BFA stopped working in 2nd half of year 2011 and 1st half of 2012.

But demand for brown fused alumina from refractory and abrasives industry seems stable. This situation can not last long. Price of brown fused alumia is expected to go up in the coming years untill a new balance between price and demand comes.
